Publication Ethics
Agritechpedia: Journal of Agriculture and Technology is a journal that aims to be a leading peer-reviewed platform and authoritative source of information. We publish original research papers, review articles, and case studies on Agriculture and Technology and related topics that have not been published elsewhere in any language nor are they currently being reviewed for publication elsewhere. The following statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers.
Publication ethics is important and must be adhered to by publishing institutions, the principles of honesty, neutrality, justice need to be upheld to produce quality publications, therefore Agritechpedia Journal in establishing publication ethics refers to the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which essentially upholds three ethical values in publications, namely: Fair play, Confidentiality, Disclosure and conflicts of interest and Our Publication Ethics is based on the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE (available at http://publicationethics.org/).
Authors must be aware that the Agritechpedia: Journal of Agriculture and Technology is an open access journal. The journal publishes two issues a year (published in June and December with the scheme "Publish us you go/ In Press"). Readers can read all articles for free without a subscription. All content, including past publications and articles, is available online.
The editorial board bears special responsibility for selecting research papers for publication and for guarding against mispublication. It is improper and will not be accepted for someone to act unethically.
Responsibility of the Editor
Publication Decision: Editors should take responsibility for everything published in the journal and seek to meet the demands of both readers and authors. The editor's choice to approve or reject a manuscript for publication should be based on the editorial board's review and the document's quality.
Manuscript Review: The editor should guarantee that each manuscript is first examined using proper methods to ensure the originality of the document's content and the quality of the material to be published.
Fair Review: Editors should strive to ensure that reviews are fair. Ensure that each submission received is reviewed only on the basis of intellectual content, regardless of gender, colour, religion, nationality, etc.
Confidentiality: The editors and editorial team ensure that information about manuscripts submitted by authors remains secret.
Authors Responsibility
Reporting Standards: The authors should present their original research adequately.
Authenticity: Authors must guarantee that their work is fully unique and not plagiarized.
Redundancy: Authors should not submit manuscripts that describe almost identical findings at the same time. Submitting the same work to many journals is unethical and inappropriate behavior.
Sources: Authors must credit all sources of data used in the research through citation.
Authors of the article: All individuals who have significantly contributed to the research should be included as authors. The corresponding authors should also guarantee that all authors and co-authors have reviewed and accepted the submitted manuscript's final version, as well as their inclusion as authors.
Data Access and Storage: Authors should keep raw data linked to the submitted manuscript and make it available for editorial review upon request from the editor.
Fundamental errors in the published work: If an author discovers substantial flaws or inaccuracies in the submitted manuscript, they should contact the editor right away.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Confidentiality: Reviewers, editors, and editorial staff should not share any information about the submitted manuscript. All submitted manuscripts should be kept as confidential.
Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should ensure that authors credit all data sources utilized in the study, and that any assertion that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported is supported by relevant citations.
Objectivity Standards: Incoming reviewers will be evaluated objectively. Reviewers should state their opinions clearly and provide supporting reasons for the material being evaluated.
Timeliness: If a reviewer is unable to undertake an article review in accordance with the established rules or within the time frame specified, he or she should notify the editor so that an accurate and timely review can be ensured.
Conflict of Interest: All reviewers must have no conflicts of interest with regard to the research, authors, or institution.
Changes or Modifications to Published Articles
Withdrawal: If the writers uncover serious inaccuracies, their published articles will be retracted. Before approving a retraction request, the editorial board and editor-in-chief should engage in open communication with the writers. If the article is accepted for withdrawal, the following will occur:
The article from the journal database will be erased.
Links from the online publication website will be erased.
The following sentence or a similar phrase describing the reason will be shown beneath the title of the work in the Table of Contents and journal volume pages. (The paper was retracted owing to a technical error).
Substitutions: A published paper may be replaced if its authors submit an updated version. Before approving a substitution request, the editorial board and editor-in-chief should communicate with the authors, and at least one reviewer should monitor the development. If the paper is accepted for replacement, the following measures will be implemented:
The paper in the journal database will be replaced.
The link on the online publication site will be replaced.
The following sentence, or a similar phrase describing the reason, will appear below the title of the paper in the Table of Contents and journal volume pages. (This paper has been replaced because the authors have provided an updated version. If you want to see an older version, contact the editor.
The old version should be kept separate, and if someone wishes to see it, the editor can send him or her a PDF.
It is important to note that replacement can only be done once for technical repairs.
Published papers will be withdrawn if serious errors or plagiarism are discovered by reviewers, readers, librarians, publishers, or other subject matter experts. Before deleting a manuscript, the editorial board and editor-in-chief should consult with the authors and give them enough time to explain themselves. If a paper is authorized for deletion, the following will occur:
The paper from the journal database will be erased.
Links from the online publication website will be erased.
The following sentence or a similar phrase describing the reason will be shown beneath the title of the work in the Table of Contents and journal volume pages. (The paper was withdrawn due to plagiarism).
Penalties
Double submission: If double submissions are detected or become known via other sources, the editorial board must investigate their status. If the double submission is found to be purposeful, the review process will be terminated. The rationale should be communicated to the reviewer, the editorial board, and the authors.
The author's identity will be blacklisted, and they will be unable to submit papers to the Agritechpedia Journal for five years.
duplicate Publication: If a duplicate publication is discovered or becomes known from other sources, the editorial board should investigate its status. If the double publishing is proven to be purposeful, it will be notified to the editorial board and authors.
It will be forwarded to the publisher who published the same (or nearly identical) paper.
The paper will be removed in accordance with the "Removal" part of part 4.
All author names will be banned, and they will be unable to submit papers to Agritechpedia for five years.
